Wirral

2008

The Wirral is a peninsula of land that juts out between England and Wales, bordered by the River Dee to the west and the River Mersey to the east. It feels weirdly southern and somewhat out of place sandwiched between the grittier areas of Liverpool and north east Wales. It has it’s fair share of post-industrial decay, but also some properly old stuff such as the Roman walls and amphitheater in Chester, and more than a few medieval buildings that are still in use.
